Qing Hong (played by Gao Yuanyuan) was born in Guizhou, but her family was actually Shanghainese who moved here in the 1960s to support the third-line construction. Her parents really wanted to return to their hometown, but Qinghong already regarded this place as her hometown. When she was 19 years old, she met Xiao Gen (played by Li Bin), a young man from a local farmer. The pure first love between Qinghong and Xiaogen was blocked by their parents. Her father's high-pressure control made Qinghong despair.

Qinghong's first love was full of bitterness. She was full of resistance and rebellion against her family, and she went on a hunger strike to resist her father's tough attitude. But nothing can change his father's hard-heartedness. Not only that, his father has decided to go back to Shanghai at all costs, and the day when the family will move is very close. The separation of Qinghong and Xiaogen has become inevitable.

They came to the back mountain, and Xiaogen faced Qinghong, who was full of thoughts and seemed cold, and had a mixture of love and hate, and took possession of her. Xiaogen was brutally punished, and this first love in this era also ruined Qinghong's life.
